Dear friends,
Happy friendship day. In this occasion i want to share with you regarding our Me2We history as it is established and existed because of my friends, my friend's friends. Thank you all for your continuous support.
Thought of Social Service
The idea of doing social service is initiated by my friend Sireesha Gatta. With that initiation, we 3 people (Me, Sireesha Gatta & Bhaskar Ravuri) started collecting funds for few months. But we don't have the right idea on how to utilize those funds.
Came to Know about OldAge Home
After few months I came to know about Manavatha nilayam oldage home (which was facing terrible problems due to lack of funds) from my brother-in-law Varun Biyyala. Then, we immediately provided the daily provisions to them with the existing funds.
First Challenge
After that I came to know about a major issue i.e paying rent for their residence. They were unable to pay the rent since few years due to lack of funds. They were in a situation to be thrown out if they didn't pay rent within 10 days. I was not in a position to save them alone. I explained their situation to all my Intermediate, B.Tech, M.Tech & Callippus Solutions friends. I got very good response from my friends. Thank you all of my friends.Me2We is existed because of you only. You are the main pillars of our Me2We.
We started collecting funds. The first donation we received for this noble cause is from my inter friend Bhavani Rayala. We were collecting funds but it was very less compared to the required amount. At that time one person entered who has just finished his marriage vacation. He is none other than my B.Tech friend Sagar. He entered into the scene and collected huge amount within very less time. Thank you Sagar & friends.
Then we successfully collected the required amount, went there, paid the rent and saved them from being out without shelter.
Second Challenge
After that we got to know about another major issue i.e lack of water facility. They have to bring water for their daily needs from a well which is approximately 1km far from their place. Then we decided to solve their issue. Again we started collecting funds. This time we were able to collect some amount. By that time our funds have reached a saturated state as all our friends had recently donated. At that time my M.Tech friend Uday Sreenivas joined us. He made our job easy. He collected a huge amount with in short less span of time. Thanks to Uday & friends.
Origin of the Name
People at OldAge home used tell that Kiran and friends has helped us. At that time I felt that it would be
better if we represent by a common name instead of individual. Then, we decided to have a name for our team and started thinking about name. We have conducted a poll and shortlisted few names and finally majority of people voted for Me2We, suggested by Sagar. We named our team as Me2We and a blog was created in the March, 2013 by Sagar.
And the rest you know….till Event 6.
Our Successful Journey
From that day onwards, we got help from many good people and continuing support for that oldage home.
In this friendship day occassion i want thank you all of my friends, Me2We Team members, donors and supporters.
My sincere thanks to our special monthly donors Sunitha Devi Mekala & Sathya B who are donating Rs 4000 & Rs.2500 respectively monthly without fail. Because of them only our work becomes simpler & easier.
