Background Information:

We got this requirement from our Me2We member Lakshmi Prasanna last year and the requirement is to support for the education of one of the kids of a Single Woman Jyothi garu. 

They are currently staying in Tirupati. Jyothi garu’s husband passed away due to multi organ failure. She has three children (two girls and one boy). She is working in a hospital in Tirupati as a contract employee and earning Rs. 7500 which is the only source of income for leading their life.

Last year, her two daughters were studying in Kendriya Vidyalaya (Central Govt Schools) and her son Gokul was studying in Prashant school. As she could not afford for her son’s education, approached us for the support. After a thorough verification and understanding their situation, we have paid Gokul's school fee last year and she managed to pay her daughter's school and books fee with Ammavodi scheme.

This year, her elder daughter Keerthana completed schooling and joined intermediate 1st year in Sri Chaitanya Junior College. So, she approached us to support for her daughter Keerthana's education and she would try to manage part of amount for her son and younger daughter's school fee with Ammavodi scheme this year.

As her mother is a single earning source for their family, Keerthna helps her mother by taking care of her younger sister and brother when her mother is out for work. Even during the lockdown also, she used to attend her virtual classes and share the same mobile with her sister.

In this process of requirement evaluation, we had multiple discussions with Mallika garu (their relative and well-wisher) who is also teacher by profession at Vijayawada (Chaitra school) to understand Keerthana's interests in education. She wants to pursue engineering, so joined MPC in her intermediate. We have also set some expectations that would help her to secure good score in 1st year!!!

Considering her interest and passion towards studies and their family's situation, we came forward to pay the Keerthana's intermediate 1st year college fee. 

Our member Subhakar Jakka visited Sri Chaitanya Junior College , Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh on 17/09/2022 and paid the fee.
