Event 575 - Me2We Coronavirus Relief - Support for 6 BPL Families @ Telangana

Event: Me2We Coronavirus Relief Part 25 - Support for 6 BPL Families @ Hyderabad & Karimnagar
Location: Hyderabad (Borabanda, Yerragadda, Manikonda, Yellammabanda) & Obulapuram, Karimnagar

Background Story:

In this relief drive, we supported 6 needy families.

1) Avvaru Srinivasa Rao garu is a daily wager who came to Hyderabad six months ago and looking for an opportunity. His wife Lakshmi garu is a house wife. They have two children. Elder daughter is married and younger daughter is with them. They stay in a rented house. He were jobless since 2 months and impacted by Corona lock down. As they were new to city they could not find anyone who could help them. They have ration card but it was in Andhra, so they didn't receive any benefit through Corona relief package. They approached Me2We to support grocery through our Me2We needy-turned volunteer Nagababu.

2) Avvaru Subramanyeswara Rao garu is a daily wager who came to Hyderabad six months ago and looking for an opportunity. His wife Durga garu is house wife. They are family of four members (two sons). Both of them are studying in Govt school. They stay in a rented house. He was jobless since 2 months and impacted by Corona lock down. As they were new to city they could not find anyone who could help them. They have ration card but it was in Andhra, so they didn't receive any benefit through Corona relief package. They approached Me2We to support grocery through our Me2We needy-turned volunteer Nagababu.

3) Kandukuri Swathi garu was working in housekeeping in Mc Donalds. Her husband was working as security and now he is jobless. They are a family of 6 members. Two kids and two elderly parents. She didn't receive her salary for April month. When asked repeatedly they gave Rs 4000. One of the elders in their family is a bed-ridden. They stay in rented house in Yellama banda near Kukatpally. They received rice for two months also (Rs 1500 + Rs 1500) from TS government as Corona relief. They approached Me2We to support grocery through our Me2We needy-turned volunteer Nagababu.

4) Adimulam Prasad garu is an AC mechanic. They are a family of four members (two kids). Due to lockdown that to summer season he lost all his job opportunities being an AC mechanic. For few days he managed by getting some hand loan from his relatives. As the days went on, this lockdown impacted their family a lot. They don't have ration card. He approached Me2We through our Me2We needy Ramana. They stay in a rented house at Yerragadda. Our Me2We needy-turned volunteer Nagababu executed this event.

5) Madhavi garu is a housemaid and a single woman. She came to hyderabad around 1 year ago and worked in a hostel near Gachibowli as a cook and maintenance along with her daughter. Few days before lockdown they moved to Manikonda for a new job. After moving to Manikonda lockdown was announced and got stuck without any work. They were jobless since 2 months and impacted by Corona lock down. Both mother and daughter are staying in a single room for rent at Manikonda and is around Rs 4500. They have ration card but it was in Andhra, so they didn't receive any Corona relief package. They approached Me2We through Me2We needy-turned volunteer Satyanarayana garu. Our Me2We member Sagar executed this event.

6) Vali is a visually impaired person from Obulapuram, Karimnagar. They are a family of seven members (4 brothers 2 sisters) in that six of them are visually impaired. Their family was impacted with this lockdown. Vali is Me2We needy whom we supported college fee. Considering their situation we have supported them with grocery. Their source of income is through Govt pension. The have been receiving pension since month and received rice. This month they have not yet received pension and family were facing difficulty.

Considering their situation as an immediate support, we have supported them to purchase rice & groceries based on the individual family's situation for their survival during lockdown period.
