Thank you all for contributing to this noble cause.

Background information:

We got this requirement from our member Rajesh Yalamarthy and the requirement is to support Covid-19 tested positive families with groceries.

When Me2We received the requirement, total 66 people of 34 families were tested positive (as on 7th of Sep 2020) .

Mostly all of them are daily wage laborers, small scale farmers having their own 1 or 2 acres of land or by cultivating by taking lease (Kaulu Raitulu), cattle rearers and few of them are small private job workers including Vidya volunteers (contract based private teachers), 1 bus conductor, 1 RMP doctor, 1 self-employed small scale cotton products manufacturer (pillows and mattresses for supply to hostels). Most of these families fall under below poverty line.

Lock down Impact:  Most of their earnings got effected due to this lock down. Even private job employees like Vidya volunteers also looked out for alternate means to support their families by selling eggs or by going for daily wage jobs.

In addition to that they were tested with covid-19 positive and almost 66 people got tested positive from 34 families. These 34 families were asked to home quarantine themselves. They were provided with the medicines kit with a 10 day course. They were facing difficulties due to this home quarantine:

1. None of the family members were allowed to come out of the house (to prevent its spread). It has become hard for them to run their family to meet daily needs.

2. Even no one in the village were ready to accept any money from the affected families due to being tested Covid-19 positive. Moreover their neighbors or their friends themselves being poor are turning helpless in sharing their reserves of cash to help them steer through this situation.

Understanding their situation few local people started helping these affected families in what ever way they can by providing them with sanitizers, eggs, vegetables, and fruits some times. All of them are receiving rice on their ration card.

In continuation to this we got the request to support for their groceries. Our team had calls with most of the reachable families (few families don't have mobile phones). After understanding their situation, we have distributed groceries to their families.
