Background story:

We got this requirement from one of our Me2We needies Satish Jaganna. Requirement is to provide financial aid to partially visually impaired student Gopi for a Cricket kit to play in National-level Cricket Team (Nagesh Trophy 2021).

Gopi is from a Pyalakurti Village, Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh. His father was a contract lorry driver and used to get paid only when there was any lorry work. Two years ago, his father met with an accident and since then he was unable to go for job.

His mother is a daily wager and gets around Rs. 200 daily. Currently the whole family surviving on his mother’s income. Gopi has 2 sisters (one elder and one younger sister).

Gopi did his intermediate and degree at Netra college, Shamshabad. After studies he was trying for bank jobs and got job as a computer assistant in Chaitanya Junior College, Vijayawada. Unfortunately, he lost the job due to Covid-19 lockdown and came back to his hometown and preparing for competitive exams.

Other than studies he has a great passion for cricket. Last year, he got selected for Nagesh trophy (National-level Cricket trophy for visually impaired cricketers) and played for Andhra Pradesh Team.

Now, he got chance to play Nagesh Trophy 2021 again and this time it is very crucial for his career. Gopi got 80% in his degree and trying for govt competitive exams. The certificate he gets from this cricket tournament would also helpful for him in getting some reservation in sports quota.

Our members Kiran Sreeram and Vinay Thota visited his hostel @ Kurnool and did physical verification.

Thank you Sagar and Satish your time and efforts in executing this event during this Covid-19 situation.

Thank you Kiran and Vinay for your efforts for physically verifying this requirement.

Thank you MPC (Me2We Planning Committee) for your support in quick completion of verification process by considering the urgency of the requirement.
